Club Championship Trophy — 11/09/2025

A trophy to honour the Club Champion has been ordered. It is a 16 inch shield on which are mounted 14 plates to be engraved with the Champion's name. There is an option to add further plates in the future.

New articles — 29/08/2025

The Articles page now has increased its content by 100% — four articles up from two articles! Any contributions from members would be welcome. Any odd openings you've faced? Any annoying opponents you've endured? Any anecdotes to share? Any books you've read and can reccomend? Go on, give it a go. Sharpen those quills, fill the inkwell and scratch out a few lines. It gets easier and even enjoyable once you get over that initial reluctance.

Inaugural chess night at our new base — 21/08/2025

There was a remarkably good turnout on Wednesday evening for the Club's first chess playing session at Morda & Sweeny village hall. Seven Club Championship games were got underway and a couple of casual boards were in operation. A successful evening indeed.
